Collaboration between juniper, cottonwood, sand, light, wind and Arduino

This work is inspired by the dappling light of the Rio Grande Bosque and the wind-drawn sand arcs made by low-hanging junipers in Abuiqui during New Mexico's windy season. The light being received by a photoresistor varies as the cottonwood branches blow in the wind, generating the arc-shaped, rapidly-changing movement of the motor-powered juniper branch.
